Welcome to Epic Mountain Video’s brand new Music and Culture page !!! Dedicated to showcasing the musical talent and diverse culture that British Columbia and its provincial counterparts has to offer.

Epic Mountain Video is on an endless musical journey. Our quest ? to find the best new unsigned bands in the world today. One of the best things about watching action sports videos online, on DVD or on your Ipod is the new music your discover. It saddens Epic Mountain Video when professionals use recycled music for their edits. Epic Mountain Video strives to find music to suit a wide variety of videos and audiences who watch the videos, but sometimes the same song is used for more than one video. This is only because its a banger song and is best for the video.

We are proud to feature music from up and coming artists like Rocky Mountain Rebel Music, Fatty Down, Snak the Ripper, Behind Sapphire, Buena Buya and the soon to retire Millz. Click to listen and discover your new favourite band.

The Vanities and The White Widows

Two Awesome bands whose music is heavily featured in this yeas Center of Gravity 2011 Daily Video Highlights

Rocky Mountain Rebel Music throws down the new funky reggae sound! Formed in Victoria BC in the summer of 2008, the band has evolved to include 10 musicians from across Canada. This diverse collective talent accounts for the band’s high energy and full sound as well as its broad range of musical influences. Charged by Reggae, Rock, Funk, Dub, Dancehall, Punk, and World Rhythms, Rocky Mountain Rebel Music delivers an original sound that defies comparison. Shredding guitars, bubblin’ keys, smooth horns, hand percussion, drums, and heavy bass form the rough and rugged foundation upon which vocals rise and fall like the tide on Vancouver Island’s rocky coast.

Here they are rocking it out at Joe’s Apartment on Granville. Epic Mountain Video arranged to come shoot as part of a larger project. Below is the first in a series of video clips: the one, the only “Rocky Mountain Rebel Music.”

We used their song “Wild One” for the 2009 Center of Gravity promo video, which includes FMX, Mountain Biking, Wakeboarding, Beach Volleyball, hot girls in bikinis and some of the best new Canadian music.

Fatty Down has been honing his chameleon craft for over a decade now, performing both live and in the studio to become one of Canada’s most exciting and freshest new talents from the underground.  The Nanaimo-based MC packs soul and positive energy in his ammunition, and continues to impress audiences with his unique sound, powerful stage presence and his contagiously feel-good music.

Snak The Ripper

This guy is an absolute champ, spitting the deadliest rhymes over some really well crafted beats.
His music is featured in the grimey hip hop beat in the Center of Gravity video, in the Casey Groves 2010 video “A Big Year.” This video also features the music of  Fatty Down and Buena Buya. Check out the video below for some sick beats and epic visuals!
